Provides spiritual care to offenders in the Charles County Detention Center. Also, provides spiritual care, clothes and other services to ex-offenders and their families.

MISSIONAL EMPHASIS:
General: Provide a Christian After Care program for men who have returned to society following incarceration at the Charles County Detention Center in La Plata or other facilities. A Bible Study will be offered weekly at Grace Lutheran Church. Participants will be queried to identify other needs. Resources to meet other needs will be identified and provided as soon as a way to do so is found. Mentoring: Stephen Ministers who are approved to go into the Charles County Detention Center may be assigned to specific male ex-offenders prior to the release of the ex-offender and mentor that person for 6 - 9 months. Stephen Ministers under Prison Ministry Supervision may be assigned to male spouses of offenders to mentor that person while the offender is incarcerated.

Support the Men's Detention Center ChristCare Group: - Lead Bible Studies for family members of inmates. - Disciple family members of inmates. - Provide needed resources to inmates being released and to family members of inmates where possible. - Pray for inmates and their family members. Mentoring: - Female Stephen Ministers under the Prison Ministry Supervisory Group may be assigned to mentor female spouses of offenders in the Charles County Detention Center.
