Living Letters, this summer’s Tending the Flame conference,
is about being the letters of Christ in a world seeking hope and good news.

ttf-logoChrist has written with the Spirit of the Living God on our hearts that we would be His letters of recommendation. As a living letter, what do people read when they see you? Do they see Christ in you? Are you in the midst of the mission field, meeting people where they are and serving with compassion?

Reggie McNeal, our speaker, encourages us to roll up our sleeves and get dirty in this missional task, to be the people of God serving in the midst of the world that God so loves that he sent his son. It promises to be an exciting conference. Put the date (July 30-August 1, 2010) on your calendar and encourage others in your congregation to plan on attending.

The conference includes:

  • Amazing Workshops! - Five sessions of workshops covering topics of prayer, witnessing, mission planting, faith-sharing, evangelism, and discipleship.
  • The praise team from St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Hickory NC will be leading the worship and music for the conference.
  • Sunday Morning Prayer Breakfast features Rev. Dr. Jonathan Blanke, a professor at Japan Lutheran College and Seminary in Tokyo, and son of the SED.
  • Youth Program - We are excited to have Echelon, an incredible Christian band, along with Andrew Kassouf to lead the youth program with fun activities such as "Minute to Win It."
  • Children participating in the Children's Program will once again be able to play, rejoice, sing, and have fun. The registration fee for adults is $90.

The registration fee for youth and children is $25; child care is provided at no cost for infants to age 3. Register for the conference online at the Southeastern District website.

We are once again at the Holiday Inn Kroger Center in Richmond, Virginia. Call 804-379-3800 and request the conference rate of $93 when making your room reservation.
